NParchiveNParchive enables organisations to store petabytes of data in a fraction of the storage space required for that same data in production environments, with no loss of detail. Data within NParchive is typically compressed to less than 5% of its original data size. | ![]() |

Quick and easy online access
Archived data is held in an easily accessible archive store, where it is readily available for supporting information discovery requests arising from regulatory investigations, litigation, internal audits or business analysis. No special tools are needed to query the data – NParchive supports ANSI standard SQL queries, as well as database-specific extensions. These queries can be submitted using existing Business Intelligence or reporting tools, including Business Objects, Crystal Reports, COGNOS and Microstrategy.
Seamless application and schema change management
NParchive has a built-in mechanism for seamlessly handling schema changes. This mechanism enables organisations to “time-proof” their archived data. Any data in the archive can be queried, regardless of whether any schema changes have been applied to the archive's constituent tables, and regardless of how many schema changes have been applied to those tables over time. To use this mechanism, it is only necessary to supply NParchive with the revised DDL definitions at the appropriate time. If an historical query needs to be run against the data, that query can use either the current version of the schema or the version that was in place at the historical time.
When the data in an archive is queried, the query results can reflect the data at a selected point in time. This makes it possible to duplicate historical query results quickly, easily and accurately. The query mechanism takes account of schema changes that have been applied over time, and can handle changes to data types, as well as added or dropped columns, and added or dropped tables.
Guaranteed security and integrity
NParchive includes mechanisms for ensuring the integrity and security of archived data. A full audit trail is maintained of all data imported into the archive store, including MD5 checksum integrity checking. In addition, access to the data is controlled at different levels and for different roles, ensuring that access is restricted to relevant personnel.
